Sources had earlier claimed that Comcast was considering the purchase of the US’ fourth largest mobile player, but an informant – who requested anonymity – has now refuted this.
Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s parent company, is thought to be in talks with Dish Networks over a potential merger, but a local magazine has claimed that the German operator sees Comcast as a financially stronger candidate.
Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile declined to comment to Reuters and Comcast was not immediately available.
Comcast was forced to drop its proposed $45 billion merger with Time Warner Cable earlier this year following a number of hurdles.
