Huawei and Vodafone target enterprise communications

Huawei and Vodafone Global Enterprise have signed a MoU to explore opportunities in the enterprise market in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

Under the agreement, the vendor and operator will develop enterprise communications and technology services for global enterprise customers.

Areas of cooperation will initially include fixed and mobile connectivity, M2M, IoT and cloud data centres.

“We have worked with Huawei across various parts of our business and this agreement to focus on the enterprise market is an important evolution. There is an opportunity for us both to bring our expertise to bear on some of the key challenges in the enterprise market,” said Vodafone Group Enterprise’s chief executive Nick Jeffery.

The agreement builds on an existing partnership between Vodafone and Huawei, with the two working closely together to launch a branch enablement project in Asia and a hosting and cloud solution in South Africa.

“We aim to carry out joint innovations, integrate our ICT expertise and global resources, help customers cope with challenges and opportunities brought by the new industrial revolution, and push ICT transformation in the industry,” said Yan Lida, president, enterprise business group, Huawei.
