TSIC increases data centre reach in US

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) has added 100 service provider customers over the last 18 months, and consequently increased its reach to 62 major US data centres.

As a result, TSIC now claims to be the leading internet backbone provider for north and south America, based on the independent assessment of customer routes.

“People don’t just expect to be online anytime and anywhere – they rely on it,” said Brendan Ives, chief executive at TSIC.

“Helping our customers meet their end users’ demands, takes more than high performance reach We have also focussed on increasing automation to deliver a more responsive customer experience. Today we deliver multiple 100G links in days instead of months, something customers really value.”

The expansion of its north American network has also recorded results in south America, and – according to analyst firm Dyn – the company is ranked the number one IP backbone in the region.

Ivo Pascucci, head of Americas at TSIC, said that it was about more than just investing in fibre.

“Our people forge long-term relationships with technology partners, data centres and telehouses. Then we look for ways to help them simplify their operations,” he said.

“For starters, this means delivering the consistent performance their customers demand. But it also means staying at the forefront of technology. It’s what we let customers do with our fibre that matters most.”
