Hurricane Electric brings global network to CoreSite locations

Hurricane Electric is extending its global IPv4 and IPv network to CoreSite data centres in New York, Chicago and Reston, Virginia.

Located in Coresite’s New York, Chicago and Northern Virginia campus, the three PoPs are expected to offer Coresite customers additional connectivity options at higher bandwidth speeds through 100 gigabit ethernet (GE), 10GE, 1GE and 100BaseT network connections.

Additionally, customers can exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s global network through CoreSite’s Any2Exchange(R) for internet peering. Businesses directly outside the metro areas will also experience an improved service, according to the companies.

“We are pleased that Hurricane Electric has chosen to continue their growth with us and expand their availability to CoreSite data centres in New York, Chicago and Northern Virginia,” said Aron Smith, VP of Interconnection and Cloud for CoreSite. “Hurricane Electric’s presence in these markets will further enhance our ability to offer CoreSite customers access to leading network providers.”

Reid Fishler, director of carrier services for Hurricane Electric, said: “Over the last few years, the data center markets of New York, Chicago and Northern Virginia have been growing at a rapid pace, so connecting to these three CoreSite locations is a perfect fit for Hurricane Electric and will enable us to meet the demand for high-speed Internet connectivity. These new locations will allow us to offer our services directly to CoreSite’s expanding customer base in these three markets.”
