CITIC Telecom CPC launches SmartCloud DaaS platform

CITIC Telecom CPC, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited, has launched its SmartCloud desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) in Hong Kong.

Powered by the VMware Horizon DaaS platform in Hong Kong, it supports the mobile workforce and the multi-office operation needs of companies across Asia Pacific through a virtual desktop service with a monthly subscription model.

Companies that deploy the SmartCloud DaaS can deliver virtual workspaces to their employees – including full Windows Client desktops, shared desktops and hosted applications – across all operating systems on any device.

The SmartCloud DaaS is said to enable office users and mobile staff to access their desktops and applications wherever they are via the cloud on any device.

In addition, the service offers dedicated 10Gb Access Gateway as well as a central control portal that provides management console for IT administrators to monitor, configure and deploy cloud-hosted desktops and applications, with the same security credentials, policies and permissions under existing policy and infrastructure.

Customers will also receive corporate data protection and business continuity powered by CITIC Telecom CPC’s portfolio of server-side and end-user network security, onsite and offsite backup and disaster recovery solutions.

“Built on VMware's industry-leading infrastructure technologies, SmartCloud solution series is a powerful offering which strengthens our ICT leadership position in the Asia Pacific market. We have eight SmartCloud service centres in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore, which provide companies with seamless connectivity across the region, high flexibility on their resources allocation and true disaster recovery capabilities for their business operations,” said Daniel Kwong, SVP of information technology and security services at CITIC Telecom CPC.
