Rogers launches VoLTE in Canada

Rogers Communications has launched voice over LTE (VoLTE) services across Canada.

The Canadian operator claims to be the first in the country to offer the service which utilises Rogers’ 4G network to deliver a high quality calling experience.

“VoLTE will help our customers to enjoy rich, multimedia voice services and we are proud to be the first Canadian carrier to offer it.”

VoLTE also lets customer simultaneously place a call and browse the internet, and Rogers’ expects the technology to enable calls to connect faster.

Late last year, Rogers reached a deal with rival BCE Bell Canada for a 50% stake in Canadian mobile phone retailer Glentel
