Zayo Group has completed the $675 million acquisition of data centre and cloud services company Latisys.
Zayo funded the acquisition by issuing debt and completing a $700 million offering of senior unsecure notes.
It is said to be the operator’s second largest deal, and its largest outside of the fibre and network space.
The acquisition lands Zayo eight data centres across four markets in the US – Northern Virginia, Chicago, Denver and Orange County – and London, UK.
Latisys has a total of over 185,000 square feet of data centre space and serves approximately 1,100 predominantly medium to large enterprises.
Zayo plans to connect Latisys’ facilities to its metropolitan fibre networks, which will enable it to sell fibre and bandwidth services to Latisys’ enterprise customers.
