Clouditalia selects Coriant for 100G network expansion

Italian telecoms and cloud services provider Clouditalia has selected Coriant’s 100G optical networking solution to expand its nationwide long-haul transport network.

Clouditalia has deployed the Coriant hiT 7300 multi-haul transport platform, which has seen the upgrade of transmission speeds to 100Gbps, as well as enhanced connectivity in major city sites such as Rome, Milan, Bologna and Pisa.

“The connectivity needs of our enterprise customers continue to evolve as media-rich applications and cloud services become increasingly critical to their business success,” said Bernardo Marzucchi, CTO at Clouditalia.

“With the ability to seamlessly increase service capacity and advance the flexibility of our optical fibre infrastructure, the Coriant solution will allow us to keep pace with our customers’ bandwidth demands and deliver the advanced services that help them become more competitive in the market.”

Coriant’s solution includes robust ROADM capabilities, low-latency transmission, pay-as-you-go scalability and coherent 100G, and is expected to help Clouditalia exploit the full potential of its end-to-end network.

“We are pleased to partner with Clouditalia as they expand the capabilities of their transport infrastructure and create more powerful ways for their customers to communicate and collaborate,” said Uwe Fischer, CTO at Coriant.

“As we enhance our solutions portfolio with advanced IP/packet optical networking features and new technologies such as SDN, our focus remains on transforming technology innovation into real-world business value for our customers.”

In June this year, wholesale bandwidth provider TransIndonesia Network partnered with Coriant to extend and upgrade sections of its network in Indonesia.
