Rashid Abdulla resigned from his position as CEO in September this year and Batelco’s operations have since been overseen by group CEO, Alan Whelan.
Whelan said that he looked forward to working alongside Al Hashemi as they tackled "the daily challenges of working in such a competitive environment as Bahrain”.
According to a statement from the company, Al Hashemi was previously head of Batelco’s consumer division, and is also a board director at Umniah – Batelco’s unit in Jordan.
Al Hashemi joined the company in 1994, starting her career in the engineering department and has since worked in a number of divisions including customer services, accounts, product marketing and product development.
