Operators and aggregators urged to work more closely to bring down A2P pricing points

Pricing points in the A2P messaging market were the subject of a healthy debate at this morning's keynote panel session at Capacity's first ever SMS Wholesale World event in London.

While panellists were in agreement that the A2P market will experience double-digit growth over the next three years, there was a divide over whether this will translate into similar levels of revenue growth.

Telefónica's head of wholesale messaging James Lasbrey said the operator had conducted a report that indicated it could see double-digit revenue growth in Latin America and 6-8% revenue growth in Europe over the next three years.

Fellow panellists, however, raised concerns about future levels of revenue growth and said that operators should work more closely alongside aggregators in order to bring down price points.

"Operators must not kill the goose that laid the golden egg," warned Perry Offer, CEO at Dialogue.
