Telecom Italia selects Italtel for network equipment

Telecom Italia has selected next-generation networks firm Italtel for the delivery of technical assistance on its fixed domestic and mobile networks under its Multivendor Project.

The Multivendor Project is designed to create a single point of contact for network maintenance, and Italtel was selected for its specialist knowledge and experience.

“We are extremely proud to have been assigned Telecom Italia's Multivendor Project,” said Stefano Pileri, CEO at Italtel.

“Italtel won the bid as a result of our high level of reliability, our expertise in managing and evolving networks and our experience in the engineering of complex projects on an international scale.”

Italtel will enable the repair and refit of many different technologies, and the single point of contact will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure constant surveillance.

“Through this project, Italtel positions itself as a strategic partner of service providers in the overall rationalisation and evolution of networks and proposes a relationship based on constructive interaction which is the most successful model in network management.”

In October this year, Italtel France was awarded premier certification from Cisco.
