The Finnish vendor upgraded Ooredoo’s LTE network in Qatar with LTE-A carrier aggregation, enabling downlink data speeds of up to 225Mbps for customers.

Carrier aggregation is a key feature of LTE-A, enabling operators to create larger, virtual carrier bandwidths for services by combining separate spectrum bands to boost capacity, speed and performance.
Ooredoo’s deployment is claimed to be the first commercial LTE-A service with carrier aggregation in Qatar.
