StarHub offers 1Gbps broadband speeds

Capacity Asia day 2 – Singapore’s second-largest operator StarHub has boosted its residential broadband speeds to 1Gbps, in a bid to meet increasing demands.

StarHub is now able to offer 1Gbps services over fibre as well as 100Mbps over cable and puts the company in line with rivals already offering the high-speed service.

“StarHub is the only service provider to integrate two high-speed broadband technologies in a single plan for our customers to enjoy the widest and most reliable in-home coverage,” said Lin Shu Fen, head of entertainment and SmartLife at StarHub.

“This unique dual-network advantage enables us to offer customers unrivalled value and service resilience for greater peace-of-mind. Dual broadband is especially relevant for customers who simultaneously access various bandwidth intensive services, such as cloud, social networking, video streaming and gaming, across multiple devices.”

In October this year, StarHub partnered with Nokia Networks to trial the vendor’s Liquid Applications solution and successfully delivered four live video feeds.

Don’t miss today’s champagne roundtable – moderated by Armin Hall, managing director at BuyCarrierServices – on embracing disruptive technology, to be held at 12.20 in the conference room at Capacity Asia 2014 in Bangkok.
