FarEasTone selects Ericsson for IT transformation

Taiwan’s FarEasTone has extended its partnership with Ericsson, which will see the Swedish vendor become prime integrator for the lead-to-service domain of the mobile operator’s IT transformation.

Ericsson will deliver an end-to-end solution, providing services such as business requirement identification, system design and implementation.

The deployment includes Ericsson Order Care and Ericsson Catalog Manager, which is designed to improve customer ordering experience and reduce manual order handling, as well as enable the operator to categorise its products and services for a more simplified process.

“After thorough solution evaluation, we concluded that the Ericsson Order Care suite best meets FarEasTone’s IT demands,” said Magdalina Lin, EVP of IT division at FarEasTone.

“It satisfies our need to simplify product offerings with an embedded rule engine. FarEasTone can then enjoy flexibility and faster time-to-market from catalogue-driven order management for convergence across mobility, content, fixed-line and ISP business.”

The two companies share a longstanding relationship and in April 2014, partnered for FarEasTone’s LTE roll-out.

“Ericsson’s latest deployment with FarEasTone represents a new chapter in our extensive work together,” said Jan Signell, head of region, north east Asia. “Through our IT transformation experience and comprehensive product portfolio, FarEasTone will be positioned for greater service agility to deliver unrivalled benefits that span network operations, product management and customer service.”
