Hurricane Electric adds PoP in Dublin

Hurricane Electric has expanded its coverage in north west Europe with the launch of its first PoP in Dublin, Ireland.

Located at Telecity Kilcarbery Park, Nangor Road, Dublin, Ireland – one of three Telecity data centres in Dublin – the PoP is designed to enable customers to benefit from improved fault tolerance, lower latency and increased network capacity.

“Hurricane Electric is excited to announce its first network expansion in Dublin,” said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. “With access to this new PoP, businesses and other organisations will be able to take advantage of Hurricane Electric’s rich global network, while accessing next-generation IP services, such as IPv6.”

The facility will include 100GE, 10GE and 1GE connections, as well as the opportunity to exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s global network, which has four redundant paths crossing North America, two separate paths between the US and Europe, and rings across Europe and Asia.

Hurricane Electric PoPs in Europe include those in Bucharest in partnership with NXDATA, and Copenhagen with Interxion.
