GTT partners with BICS to extend European network

Cloud provider GTT has partnered with BICS to use its pan-European network 2.0 to increase the level of performance and reliability of its network.

GTT said the move was in line with its plans to supply a complete European network offering 100GBE, in a bid to respond to increasing demand from its customers for high-bandwidth capabilities.

“The BICS platform provides GTT with a flexible solution to expand its backbone network bandwidth while keeping operating expenses under control,” said Bob Burns, SVP global engineering and operations at GTT. “The combination of a state-of-the-art network and a capacity competence centre with a multi-national and highly skilled staff at our service convinced us to select BICS.”

BICS has an extensive network across Europe, operating 9,000 fibre miles in Europe with cable landings in Marseille, and it has access to the Europe India Gateway and SEA-ME-WE-4 submarine cable systems.

The company added that the move was in line with customer expectations, in a bid to ensure it has access to the latest technologies and value added services on the market.
