Huawei to increase France R&D

China’s Huawei has revealed plans to increase its R&D investments in France, and expand its industry co-operation with French partners.

Following a meeting between Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO at Huawei, and the French prime minister, Manuel Valls, Zhengfei said that he admires the values and competitive advantages of France’s high-tech industry.

“Huawei has always remained open-minded. We compete not only in the global market, but we also learn from the best practices worldwide as we work with our partners,” said Zhengfei.

“We aim to attract the best talents around the world and continue to show tangible results in our own development. This strategy has helped Huawei to become a key ingredient to the local value-creation chains in market where we operate,” he added.

The company will also expand its co-operation with ICT enterprises in France to develop joint solutions for the global market, and help to train more ICT experts in the country.

Last month, Huawei pledged to invest more than $4 billion in fixed-line R&D.
