VIRTUS launches LONDON2 data centre

Data centre company VIRTUS has announced that its LONDON2 facility in the UK is now open and operational.

The centre, which has been built on the principles of “intelligent by design”, is powered by renewable energy sources, and delivers low operation costs through technology driven initiatives designed to increase optimisation.

The data centre will deploy groundbreaking fresh air evaporate cooling technology, which is designed to decrease energy consumption.

“The opening of LONDON2 is another significant milestone for VIRTUS data centres,” said Neil Cresswell, CEO at VIRTUS. “It offers our London customers one of the world’s most agile, connected and efficient data centre solutions, and is the most efficient in London, with indirect fresh air cooling for improved customer energy efficiency.”

The facility spans 65,000 sq ft, and VIRTUS said the launch was on time and on budget.
