TSTT appoints CEO

The Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) has appointed Ronald Walcott as CEO, the state-controlled telecoms provider said in a statement.

Walcott will start his role directly and he replaces George Hill who has resigned from his position as well as the TSTT board.

“Following the announcement, Mr Walcott expressed his appreciation for the role former acting CEO George Hill played in TSTT and has committed to ensuring the conti¬nued growth of the organisation through the successful management of the company towards greater value for shareholders,” the company said.

Walcott was TSTT’s former executive VP of mobile services and operations, and holds an MBA from the University of Bedfordshire in the UK. He is also a doctoral candidate at the North Central University in the US, where he is finalising his dissertation for his DBA specialising in financial management.

TSTT has had three CEOs since 2012 and posted an estimated $505 million loss for the year-end March 2014.
