Colt to support BNP Real Estate division in Germany

Fixed-line provider Colt has announced plans to support financial group BNP Paribas’ Real Estate division in Germany with network services.

The managed networking capabilities will allow the German real estate provider to vary its bandwidth services to accommodate changing requirements across 12 offices, enabling employees to stay connected with customers.

As the German real estate market grows, with locations across large cities including Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, Colt will support with BNP’s Real Estate objectives through extending bandwidth capabilities without replacing hardware.

It will also operate IP VPN fibre-optic connectivity to all of the company’s German locations at a rate of 10Mbps, with bandwidth expected to rise to 100Mbps if required.

“Thanks to our scalable infrastructure we can adapt the network bandwidth at any given time to meet BNP Paribas Real Estate’s demands,” said Markus Hacker, regional GM, DACH, at Colt. “At the same time, we can also guarantee a reliable connection. If, for instance a natural disaster or power cut should bring a location to a standstill, the employees can move to another office and continue their work seamlessly.”

Colt said it will also provide back-up capabilities for any network outages through the company’s redundant fibre-optic network.
