Pacnet data centres receive 2.0 certification

Pacnet’s CloudSpace data centres in Sydney (SYCS1), Hong Kong (HKCS1 and HKCS2) and Singapore (SGCS2) have been awarded PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 2.0 Certification and Attestation of Compliance.

Pacnet has been classified as a Level 1 Service Provider, and the internationally recognised PCI DSS 2.0 certification marks the data centres’ adherence to the standards and guidelines for protecting customers’ financial and sensitive data.

“In addition to being a key differentiator for Pacnet in the APAC region, earning PCI DSS compliance upholds our pioneering market standing and commitment to the adoption of global data security standards,” said Giles Proctor, VP of data centre services at Pacnet.

“The accomplishment also underscores Pacnet’s dedication to data protection, investment in secure infrastructure and delivery of proven services to protect the interests of customers who process credit card transactions within our data centres,” he added.

Pacnet’s assessment was completed from January 23 to June 10 2014, and involved an in-depth review of its IT security policies and procedures, physical security management, data protection, network access management and several other critical protective measures.

Pacnet announced plans to invest in Asia-Pacific data centres in November 2013 and launched its SGCS2 data centre in Singapore in January 2014.
