EE posts first half results

UK operator EE has posted its first half results for 2014, with year-on-year operating revenues showing a rise of 0.1%.

EBIDTA meanwhile reached £760 million, with an EBIDTA margin of 24.4%, up 1.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

The operator saw its 4G customer base double to 4.2 million in the first half of the year, gaining 1.3 million new 4G customers in Q2. It also saw 72% of new post-paid customers select 4G, including 88% of new B2B customers.

In June, EE announced that it had begun trialling a voice-over-Wifi service as part of £275 million investment in voice.
