Tele2 inks M2M deal with NetComm Wireless

Tele2 AB has announced an agreement with service provider NetComm Wireless for the delivery of M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) opportunities to vertical markets.

The collaboration forms part of a larger agreement between a number of M2M/IoT partners selected by Tele2 and NetComm, to provide end-to-end solutions across a range of industry sectors, including automation, security, smart cities and healthcare.

“Tele2 set out to build partnerships that make it simple and viable for business customers to deploy M2M/IoT across their entire organisation and we look forward to working with NetComm Wireless to deliver the seamless connection, customisation and control capabilities needed to achieve this objective,” said Rami Avidan, head of Tele2 M2M Global Solutions.

NetComm Wireless’ M2M and IoT devices provide the network connection and remote management components for Tele2, enhancing operational and cost efficiency by allowing businesses to monitor and control mission-critical equipment over the operator’s network.

“The European wireless M2M/IoT market is experiencing solid growth and we are pleased to partner with Tele2 to satisfy the strong demand that we have seen coming from a wide range of industries across Europe and globally,” said David Stewart, CEO and managing director at NetComm Wireless.

NetComm Wireless’ solutions are also expected to allow business customers to troubleshoot, upgrade firmware and roll out applications in real time over the Tele2 Network.

In December last year, Tele2 partnered with US-based M2M specialist Jasper Wireless to power M2M and IoT devices for global enterprises.
