SPN Alliance connects to Volta Data Centre in London

London-based Volta Data Centre has confirmed that the Secure Path Networks (SPN) Alliance has installed dark fibre connectivity into its Great Sutton Street (GSS) facility.

The move adds to the SPN Alliance’s fibre network across London, providing its members with additional connectivity options.

The SPN Alliance is a membership organisation for SPNs focussed on low-level infrastructure and supply-chain aggregation. Its members include the likes of AboveNet, AT&T, Comcast, Global Crossing, Savvis, Time Warner and XO.

“When planning for our latest fibre roll-out, Volta GSS was an ideal choice for deployment for us. With its high-density power infrastructure and proximity to the City of London, Volta GSS will be an extremely useful co-location facility for our members and their clients,” said David Simmons, COO, SPN Alliance.

For Volta, the addition of the SPN Alliance bring the total of connectivity providers for its data centre to 19, nine of which bring their own fibre links to the building.

“We are delighted that The SPN Alliance is now running their fibre into our Great Sutton Street facility. The addition of The SPN Alliance network to our growing list of Tier-1 carriers will offer our customers real choice of low-latency connectivity to both the UK and global markets,” said Matthew Dent, CEO of Volta.

Earlier in June, data centre co-location and solutions provider C4L established a PoP in the Great Sutton Street facility.
