KDDI selects Epsilon for connectivity in Singapore and Hong Kong

Japanese operator KDDI has selected Epsilon to deliver local-access networks in Singapore and Hong Kong.

KDDI will utilise Epsilon’s eConnect solution to simplify connecting enterprise locations by aggregating multiple local networks into a single complete solution.

This extends KDDI’s MPLS network across the business hubs in Asia, and is designed to give its corporate customers connectivity from PoP to PoP and building to building.

“KDDI serves a range of corporate customers, from Japanese SMEs through to MNCs, and we needed a way to efficiently serve local-access demand without adding complexity to our operation,” said Tamotsu Watanabe, GM, global ICT business division at KDDI.

“The answer was to outsource local-access networks with Epsilon’s eConnect solution and give our customers reliable building-to-building connectivity in Hong Kong and Singapore,” he added.

Epsilon’s eConnect solution has been deployed in enterprise locations across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe, and leverages Epsilon’s 500 operator relationships to extend KDDI’s reach for connectivity.

“Local-access networks remain a challenge for operators around the world and eConnect is a way to serve growing enterprise demand without investing time and resource in procurement. KDDI has been able to leverage our existing relationships and expertise in cross-connects to give its customers access to the enterprise locations they need,” said Elisabeth Schwarz, Regional Director, Carrier Business APAC at Epsilon.
