Vodafone to open new development centre in London

Vodafone has announced plans to move its Vodafone xone technology development hub from Silicon Valley to London, in an effort to boost its emerging technologies division in Europe, Africa and India.

The move will facilitate the expansion of Vodafone xone’s technology and marketing teams in London, drawing from technology talent in the UK and Europe.

Pratapa Bernard has been appointed as the new head of Vodafone xone, and will be responsible for the global development and incubation of new and emerging technologies.

"Establishing a new hub for Vodafone xone in London will bring our product development team closer to the customers it serves,” said Stefano Parisse, Vodafone's consumer services director.

“It will allow us to draw on a vast pool of technology talent in the UK and Europe and simplify our development process, enabling us to get the very latest technology into the hands of our customers as quickly as possible."

Last month, Vodafone reported record falls in underlying revenue for the last 18 months.
