Level 3 integrates Equinix Cloud Exchange

Level 3 Communications has announced that it is integrating the Equinix Cloud Exchange into its own Cloud Connect Solutions ecosystem.

The integration is expected to deliver enterprises and government entities with greater access to a wide range of cloud service providers; offering a secure and high-performance alternative to the public internet.

“By combining Level 3’s network with the Equinix Cloud Exchange, we are making it easier for our customers to grow and improve the efficiency of their business operations with access to a broader range of cloud services,” said Anthony Christie, CMO at Level 3.

“With pre-established network-to-network interfaces (NNIs) from Level 3 to Equinix, combined with Level 3’s dynamic bandwidth capability, customers can quickly turn up and scale their cloud solutions,” he added.

Level 3’s networks already reach 80 Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres across four continents, and its customers will now be able to use the Equinix Cloud Exchange to access and deploy public, private and hybrid cloud solutions worldwide.

“The combination of Level 3’s network and the Equinix Cloud Exchange offers enterprises a simple way to interconnect to the services they need to build sophisticated hybrid cloud solutions,” said Sara Baack, CMO at Equinix.

Earlier this month, Equinix signed an agreement with tw telecom for its Equinix Cloud Exchange.
