ITW EXCLUSIVE: TI Sparkle expands footprint with PoPs in Brazil and Panama

TI Sparkle has announced the launch of two new PoPs in Brazil and Panama as part of its plans to expand its global IP backbone footprint in the region.

The move will see the carrier launch operations in Fortaleza, northern Brazil, and in Panama City, in an effort to improve the company’s global backbone capillarity and enhance the performance of its Seabone global IP transit service.

The expansion which is said to provide lower latency and improved traffic routing capabilities to both regions, building on its considerable presence in Brazil. The PoP in Fortaleza is TI Sparkle’s fourth in the country.

At the same time, the company announced plans to upgrade its backbone in the region to 100Gbps.

The upgrade is designed to increase backbone capacity and improve the quality of service in the region, with an increasing emphasis on provisioning and fault management services.

“TI Sparkle is currently ranked top in Renesys’ South American Wholesale Ranking and significantly ahead of its main competitors. Combined with our 10th global position, TI Sparkle is the ideal choice for top-quality North to South American IP connectivity,” said Elisabetta Ripa, CEO at TI Sparkle.

The company was announced as one of the initial investors for the deployment of the SEA-ME-WE 5 cable connecting Europe and Singapore in March earlier this year.
