GTS expands cloud presence in CEE

GTS Central Europe (GTS) has today announced an expansion of its cloud platform and solutions for customers in central and eastern Europe (CEE).

The expansion includes the addition of the Slovakia cloud platform in its Bratislava data centre; bringing its total number of cloud platforms to five, one in each of its core countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

Ignacio Irurita, CTO at GTS, said that the expansion comes as a result of increased demand for cloud services in the region, which he claims have grown at a CAGR of over 180% over the last two years.

“To support various national data protection standards and deliver optimal performance, enterprises are increasingly demanding that their cloud environments are managed and stored locally,” Irurita said.

“We are excited to further expand GTS’ cloud infrastructure into all five countries and meet their needs.”

GTS’ cloud platforms are designed to deliver a range of scalable and secure storage and network resources, to eliminate the constraints of physical IT infrastructure.

The company added Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) and hybrid cloud solutions to its portfolio earlier this year.

GTS is in the midst of an acquisition by Deutsche Telekom which received EU anti-trust approval last month.
