TeliaSonera appoints new CFO

TeliaSonera has appointed Christian Luiga as its permanent CFO.

Luiga has been acting CFO for the company since November 2013, after his predecessor Per-Arne Blomquist left in the wake of corruption allegations involving the firm’s investments in Uzbekistan.

"Christian has been acting CFO for the past four months and has done an excellent job," said Johan Dennelind, president and CEO of TeliaSonera. "He is also known in our investor community in his capacity as acting CFO."

Swedish prosecutors have launched an inquest into wrongdoing over TeliaSonera’s purchase of a 3G licence in Uzbekistan in 2012, with authorities in the Netherlands and the US also carrying out probes.

Since the corruption allegations came to light, the company has overhauled its management structure to improve accountability.
