TeliaSonera launches PoP in Florida, US

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) has launched a PoP in the city of Boca Raton, Florida, in an effort to increase its connectivity into South America.

The move is said to strengthen the company’s global backbone and upholds its commitment to providing reliable connectivity anywhere in the world.

Many financial services companies, cloud and IT providers, network service providers, internet service providers (ISPs) and CDN companies are found in Boca Raton and it is seen as a strategic location for access to business in Brazil.

“The Boca Raton PoP is a strategic location, as it serves as an important route for customers in South America as well as the greater Miami metro area,” said Ivo Pascucci, regional director of the Americas for TeliaSonera.

“Our continued expansion throughout the Americas regions are allowing us to meet growing customer demands for high performance connectivity, network diversity and extended reach, providing superior performance to and from the commercial centres of this emerging market,” he added.

The news follows the announcement earlier this month that TeliaSonera had launched a PoP in Dubai, in partnership with regional data centre provider datamena.
