Epsilon establishes virtual PoP for Axiata

Carrier-neutral exchange company Epsilon has partnered with Asian mobile group Axiata to establish a virtual PoP in Singapore.

The virtual PoP, named ePoP, is designed to enable Axiata to consolidate interconnects across its mobile subsidiaries, giving it greater purchasing power and eliminating the duplication of partner interconnects.

Elisabeth Schwarz, regional director of Carrier Business APAC at Epsilon, said: “ePoP offered Axiata a way to reduce costs and drive efficiencies across the group. The Axiata International Hub means that each subsidiary no longer has to pursue their own interconnects with partners and have the added advantage of purchasing as a group.”

In January, Epsilon established a sales office in Dubai to cope with growing demand from operators in the Middle East for IPX services and local access solutions.
