Zayo acquires CoreXchange

Zayo Group has announced its acquisition of Texas-based data centre provider, CoreXchange.

The acquisition was completed through Zayo’s co-location division, zColo, and adds an extra data centre to the company’s portfolio.

As well as CoreXchange’s data centre located at 8600 Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas, Texas, zColo will also acquire an additional 12,000 square feet in CoreXchange’s suite at a second existing data centre in Dallas.

The total acquisition comes to more than 18,000 square feet of data centre space, and brings zColo’s data centre count to 27.

Under terms of the agreement, Zayo will also acquire CoreXchange’s online facility, ColoUnlimited, designed to facilitate real-time online sales and the ordering of co-location services.

Zayo operates two data centre facilities in Dallas which are connected to its dense fibre footprint in the region.

In January 2014, Zayo was selected by AMS-IX to be the internet exchange’s fibre provider in the US, and later in February, Zayo expanded its fibre footprint in London, UK.
