Tawasul Telecom partners with Multinet to expand footprint to Pakistan

Tawasul Telecom has today announced a partnership with Pakistani operator Multinet, which will see the Kuwaiti service provider expand its global footprint into Pakistan.

The two companies have agreed to interconnect MPLS networks, extending network coverage and allowing faster provisioning times for clients.

The deal is part of Tawasul Telecom’s expansion plan to connect the GCC countries and the Middle East to Asia.

“The signing of this agreement falls in-line with Tawasul's strategy for tactical expansion linking the GCC and Middle East to key markets in Asia”, said Salem Almulaifi, business development director at Tawasul Telecom.

“This comprehensive move serves perfectly our plan to expand across the globe; we are delighted to establish a presence in Pakistan which comes to fortify our network’s outreach to new vertical markets.”.

Tawasul Telecom’s cloud network infrastructure now covers 11 markets including Kuwait, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, the UK, Germany, Singapore, Egypt and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Multinet is aggressively investing in its network expansion, with an optical fibre network now in excess of 11,000 km and connecting 110 cities in Pakistan. The carrier provides terrestrial coverage, and operates international PoPs in the UK and Singapore, and serves as a gateway for global connectivity to and from Pakistan.

“This partnership will allow both of us to provide world class connectivity, through our two networks, to our customers” said Rashid Shafi, senior EVP and CSO at Multinet Pakistan.

“While Tawasul offers connectivity solutions in Pakistan, vice versa, we will be offering solutions in GCC and Egypt to which we look at as highly potential markets. This joint cooperation between Multinet Pakistan and Tawasul Telecom serves as a testament to the companies mutual strengths and destined efforts to provide the best services to valuable customers all over the world.”
