Global Transit opens PoP at Interxion London data centre

Asia's Global Transit has expanded its international presence with the launch of a PoP at Interxion’s data centre campus in London, UK.

Global Transit sees Europe as its next key area for growth, and the launch of the London PoP adds to its existing PoPs in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Japan, Hong Kong, and the US.

Based in Malaysia, Global Transit delivers high availability services to service providers via its content rich network, and the company hopes the launch in London to allow for enhanced connectivity between Asia and Europe.

“By joining forces with Interxion in London, we are able to provide all of our valued Asian customers with access to one of the largest global internet exchanges and make further progress towards our goal of building a truly global network,” said Saiful Husni Samak, CEO at Global Transit.

Global Transit customers are expected to benefit from access to leading European internet exchanges such as LINK, DE-CIX and AMS-IX, and Interxion customers will utilise direct access to Asia’s marketplace via Global Transit’s network.

“This partnership is further evidence of Interxion’s expertise in supporting companies as they expand their reach across Europe,” said Doug Loewe, UK MD at Interxion.

“Our London campus offers some of the best connectivity in Europe, making it an ideal location to support Global Transit’s initial expansion across the region.”

Earlier this month, mobile payments firm Bango also announced that it was opening a PoP in Interxion’s London data centre.
