Chile's Netline sues for discriminatory MVNO rates

Chilean operator Netline has sued three competing companies for limiting access to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) by charging high service rates.

Netline claims that Entel, Movistar and Claro have not complied with Chile’s supreme court ruling of 2011 that required them to make a wholesale price offer for MVNOs.

Netline said that the offers made "does not meet the criteria established by the supreme court: to be general, uniform, objective and non-discriminatory".

Netline has signed a contract with Movistar. However, the company said that the deal "impedes, restricts and hinders" its ability to compete with the three operators.

Netline is urging the antitrust court to ban Entel, Movistar and Claro from charging discriminatory service rates.
