Alcatel-Lucent opens innovation centre in Taiwan

France-based vendor Alcatel-Lucent has opened an innovation centre in Taiwan to further serve clients in the Asia-Pacific region.

Alcatel said it had launched the centre with the aim of showcasing its latest technologies and products to telecoms operators and enterprise customers in the region.

The company hopes the centre will encourage co-operation with Taiwan-based partners to develop business models and services for the different markets in Asia-Pacific.

“This innovation centre gives our customers a way to see and experience Alcatel-Lucent products and services, and also work in partnership with businesses from a wide range of industries and markets to develop next-generation services,” said Martin Jordy, president of Alcatel-Lucent’s Asia-Pacific region.

It is the company’s fourth innovation centre globally, after similar launches in the US, France and Brazil.

It revealed it had chosen Taiwan because of the country’s well-developed ICT industry and access to high-speed internet connectivity.
