Telkomsel partners with Jasper Wireless for M2M services in Indonesia

Indonesia’s largest mobile operator, Telkomsel, has partnered with Jasper Wireless for the delivery of M2M connectivity to enterprises in the region.

Jasper Wireless’ connected devices platform will enable Telkomsel to bring M2M services to market quickly and effectively, as well as centrally manage each connected device on its network.

Indonesia has started to focus more heavily on mobile connected devices this year and in February, XL Indonesia partnered with Ericsson for M2M services.

“Our economy is becoming increasingly global and connected,” said Alfian Manullang, general manager for business development at Telkomsel.

“Enabling businesses in Indonesia to manage devices around the world from a single platform provides very exciting opportunities.”

The retail, consumer electronics, automotive telematics, utilities and healthcare sectors in Indonesia are expected to reap the most benefit from the application of M2M in the country and Ken Laversin, VP of worldwide sales at Jasper Wireless, praised Indonesia’s potential.

“Indonesia is ripe with enterprises looking to innovate around mobile connected devices,” Laversin said.

“Jasper’s cloud-based platform is the enterprise choice across the world and this partnership provides Telkomsel with a wealth of applications and services to accelerate market entry of new categories of connected devices.”

Last week, global operator Tele2 AB partnered with Jasper Wireless to deliver its connected devices platform.
