Webtrends extends SaaS operations with ViaWest

Internet company Webtrends has announced the expansion of its global SaaS operations to ViaWest’s data centre complex in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The expansion is part of a strategic move by the company to reinforce Webtrend’s commitment to its customers to provide better security and uptime.

“We handle billions of transactions a day, and reliability, availability and security are primary considerations for Webtrends and our customers,” said Bruce Kenny, EVP of product at Webtrends.

“ViaWest provides world-class operations, with proactive compliance with SSAE 16/SOC 1, 2 and 3 and overall security. This and their partnering model was a crucial factor in our choosing them as our data center partner,” he added.

ViaWest operates as one of the largest privately-held cloud computing and managed services providers in North America, with 27 data centres across the country.

The Hillsboro data center complex features more than 50,000 square feet of usable space. It also has 8.5MW of back-up power generation to ensure continuity, and in the unlikely event of power loss, the company claims Webtrends’ operations will not be affected.

“Webtrends is well known for its success in working with many of the world’s largest and most well-known brands,” said Jim Linkous, regional VP sales and general manager at ViaWest. “We are proud that we met the company’s stringent demands and that Webtrends entrusted ViaWest with continuing its unmatched reliability and security record.”
