SES retains strong 2013 forecast

Satellite operator SES has repeated its growth forecast for 2013 following a slight increase in Q3 financial results.

SES reported revenues of €467.7 million and core profit of €347.3 million and expects both to increase, despite delays to the launch of two satellites earlier this year.

According to Reuters, the company said today that its revenue should increase by between 3-4% and also predicts core profit growth of between 2.5-3.5%.

SES operates 54 satellites and two out of four additional satellites have this year been launched into orbit.

The Astra 2E satellite launch was delayed by two weeks to the end of September and the SES-8 has been pushed back from its October launch date to November 22.

Once a number of satellite replacements have been carried out, SES expects capital expenditure to fall to approximately €450 million in 2015-2018.

In early October, French satellite operator Eutelsat Communications transferred its disputed satellite frequencies to SES.
