The agreement is reportedly subject to regulatory and statutory approvals, and will make this the second in-country acquisition by the company in Africa, after acquiring Warid’s Uganda operations earlier this year.
The acquisition will make Airtel the largest operator in the Republic of Congo, with around 2.6 million customers. It presently operates as the second-largest operator in the country, with 1.6 million customers.
