Seaborn selects Sunesys for US backhaul network

Seaborn Networks has selected Sunesys to provide a fibre backhaul network connecting its US landing station to CoreSite and Equinix facilities in New Jersey.

The dark fibre and lit network services provider is scheduled to complete the 8,900 mile route by the end of this year. It will support the 2015 launch of Seabras-1, a subsea cable system directly linking the US and Brazil.

“The level of performance and diversity of this new Sunesys fibre backbone network in the US will enable Seaborn to implement one of the most robust international backhaul networks in the industry,” said Larry Schwartz, CEO of Seaborn Networks.

It’s been a busy week for Seaborn Networks, which on Monday also announced it had received a credit facility for Seabras-1.
