Huawei to build data centre in Malaysia

Huawei has announced it will set up a data centre in Malaysia, in collaboration with the country’s state investor Khazanah Nasional.

The development is designed to facilitate data hosting and establish a logistics centre in southern Malaysia to serve Huawei’s regional customers.

Located in the Iskandar region, the centre is only a short distance from Singapore, with a combined space of over 90,000 square feet.

The value of the project was undisclosed, but both companies said the project would create 600 jobs.
