BICS expands its African footprint

Belgium's BICS has today opened offices in Ghana, Kenya and South Africa in a bid to enhance its presence in Africa.

The offices form part of a broader expansion strategy into key growth markets for BICS, and are designed to support the company’s growing portfolio of services.

“Our company is expanding and we have a number of key customers in Africa. Dedicated teams in Ghana, Kenya and South Africa will enable us to be even closer to our clients and partners across the region,” said Clémentine Fournier, regional VP for Africa at BICS.

“Africa is one of the fastest-growing telecom markets in the world, characterised by a strong uptake of voice, messaging and mobile payment services and an increasing use of data services, thanks to increased smartphone adoption.”

BICS has been delivering services to the African market for 15 years and also has offices in Brussels, Bern, Dubai, Singapore and New York.

The Belgian telco appears to be placing a heavier focus on global expansion and the office launches follow BICS’ launch of LTE roaming over its IPX platform in early September this year.
