Telekom Slovenije set for privatisation

The Slovenian government is set to make a decision on the privatisation of Telekom Slovenije on Thursday October 3 2013.

Telekom Slovenije, along with 15 other companies, was put on sale in May and local reports have said that the Slovenian incumbent will be sold by the end of 2014.

The Republic of Slovenia owns 62.5% of Telekom Slovenije and Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom looks to be the frontrunner for the sale.

Hrvatski Telekom is backed by Deutsche Telekom and other potential buyers are thought to include Telenor and Telekom Austria.

It has not been specified whether a sale would include Telekom Slovenije’s infrastructure, or whether it would be separated before the sale.
