Zamir Telecom deploys WTL for VoIP services

World Telecom Labs (WTL) has announced that Zamir Telecom is to begin using its VoIP optimisation equipment to improve the service on its London to Dhaka route.

The company’s managed VoIP service between the two cities runs on a dedicated fibre link, with traffic peaking at 20 million minutes a day.

Zamir said it had deployed WTL’s VoIP switches at either end of the link to improve call quality, and ensure the network is available and able to optimise Zamir’s bandwidth capacity without a compromise to voice quality.

“WTL is a technologically innovative company, whose team really understand what VoIP operators want and need,” said Naufal Zamir, MD and founder of Zamir Telecom.

The partnership reportedly increases capacity and flexibility on the route, and will enable a higher density of calls at the same level of QoS.

WTL MD Leigh Smith claimed the company’s offering was unique in the market.

“Many VoIP operators simply don’t realise that there is a myriad of ways in which their network can be optimised to increase capacity and reduce costs,” he added.
