The agreement is expected to increase access to data services for commercial buildings in the country and deliver international connectivity to local and foreign businesses entering the market.
The two companies have been working together for over a year, with YTP using its managed switch partition services to connect calls from around the world to Myanmar. Epsilon operates an international gateway for YTP and gives its customers access to international connectivity.
“When telecoms laws are finally passed in Myanmar, we are in a position to begin offering local access services in the country and help to spur on economic growth, as well as infrastructure development,” said Andreas Hipp, CEO at Epsilon. “We have had a very successful relationship with YTP in supporting their voice services and we look forward to expanding our co-operation to cover data services as well.”
YTP operates a nationwide satellite and wireless network to deliver a range of services, including internet access, data, voice and corporate VPN. The company’s CEO, Tin Win, added that the company was committed to delivering the best network and technologies to the market.
“With 60 million people in the country and investment in infrastructure growing, our relationship with Epsilon means we can serve this massive growth in demand,” he said.
Capacity’s first conference dedicated to the Myanmar market began today in Nay Pyi Taw.
