Orange ramps up French 4G roll-out

Orange has today announced that it has extended 4G coverage to all areas of Paris, with plans to further increase its offering across France ahead of schedule.

The company also said it is planning to roll out the service to 70 cities and surrounding urban areas by the end of September, including over 500 towns.

It is speeding up its 4G offering with plans to now cover 40% of the French population by the end of the year, instead of 30% as previously planned.

It claims to be the only operator in the country to offer maximum theoretic speeds of 150Mbps, and is increasing access to its 4G services by offering content through different packages and a wide range of devices.

250,000 customers already use Orange 4G through a 4G frequency band ranging from 20MHz to 2.6GHz.
