Exponential-e launches 10G cloud service in UK in data centres

Technology provider Exponential-e has today announced the launch of 10Gbps cloud connectivity in 12 UK data centres.

The company will reportedly deliver 10G connectivity over its 100G core network spanning the UK, in order to meet increasing customer demand.

The service is designed to provide enterprise-class connectivity for cloud environments, as well as reduce latency and provide higher quality cloud performance.

“We’ve seen an increasing demand for capacity over the past 18 months from customers taking cloud services from us, our partners’ customers and customers of other cloud service providers as they look to ensure that there is no gap between the quality of their cloud services and the connectivity used to access the cloud,” said Lee Wade, CEO at Exponential-e.

“This launch is designed to ensure that the network delivers on the cloud promise with 132 10G route options across 12 data centres.”

Equinix LD1-5, Interxion, Telehouse and Virtus are among the 12 UK data centres which will benefit from the 10G connectivity, and it is estimated that cloud uptake will require more than 20 times the computing capacity by 2015.

In March this year Exponential-e upgraded Viridian Housing’s ICT services to cloud.
