Dialog Axiata pens infrastructure deal in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan subsidiary of Malaysia’s Axiata Group, Dialog Axiata has signed a deal with the nation’s investment arm for ICT infrastructure in Sri Lanka.

The $150 million agreement will see Sri Lanka’s leading mobile phone operator expand and upgrade its 3G and 4G networks.

“The investment agreements will encompass the expansion of the multi-faceted ICT infrastructures of the Dialog group,” the company said in a statement.

Dialog Axiata’s high speed broadband, fibre-optic, fixed-line and international telecommunications networks are expected to benefit from the investment.

The upgrade will reportedly be implemented over a period of three years, and follows news earlier this year that Dialog Axiata was successful in Sri Lanka’s 4G spectrum auction.
